Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2025 Newcomer Survey.

The survey is being conducted by the Department of Jobs, Growth and Rural Development, in partnership with the Newfoundland and Labrador Statistics Agency (NLSA), to gather information on the experiences of newcomers to the province. The information collected will be used to better understand newcomers’ needs, identify the most effective support services and gain insights into the factors influencing whether newcomers remain in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Currently, we are gathering feedback from newcomers to Canada who are permanent residents or Canadian Citizens. This includes: 
  • Immigrants,
  • Government assisted refugees,
  • Privately sponsored refugees, and
  • Sponsored family members of Canadians or permanent residents.
If you are a member of one of these newcomer groups and have resided in Newfoundland and Labrador at any time (even if you are not currently residing in Newfoundland and Labrador), you are eligible to complete the survey.
